The idea
Robert Earl built this single-level pavilion for himself in 1963 on a bluff in Bel Air, before he went on to design houses for much of Hollywood.

The intervention
In consultation with Earl, two walls were taken out to open the house to the view and the original terrazzo was extended through the rooms.
